Paula Grant named on Ireland Team for European Championships

Paula Grant, an optometry student on Coleraine campus, has been selected to represent Ireland in the upcoming European Championships this July.  Paula is no stranger to the Ireland set-up having represented Ireland consistently from 2011 to present, in one or more of the following; Home Internationals, European Championships and the World Amateur Team Championships.  In 2014, Paula realised an incredible achievement in winning the R&A Foundation Scholars Tournament for two consecutive years.  Other accomplishments include the Ladies Individual Title at the Irish Intervarsity, the Irish Women’s Close Title, 2nd in the Mabel Harrison Scratch Cup, 4th in the Irish Stroke Play, 6th in the British Ladies Open Stroke Play, T18th in the South American Amateur Championship and then some.  Paula’s successes have been honoured by UUSU Sport at Colours; she won Fresher of the Year, Coleraine campus in 2013, and President’s Plate in both 2013 and 2014.  Best of luck to Paula and the rest of the Irish Women’s Team when they head to Denmark in July.
