IFA Referee Course
The IFA are running Basic Referee Courses at various locations over Northern Ireland. All prospective referees are required to attend an introductory evening prior to starting the Basic Referee Course. At this introductory evening you will receive information about the course and what is expected of a referee.
The Basic Referees Course is 12 hours of classroom and outdoor based learning culminating in a written test which must be successfully completed. At the completion of the course each referee will be provided contact details of a mentor and be allocated a league. Each new referee must officiate in 6 games before being confirmed as a junior referee. This initial 6 game period allows an experienced referee to mentor the new referee providing a point of contact and support network for the newly qualified official.
Once 6 games are completed the referee is invited back to their local referees association to receive their certificate and be confirmed as a Junior referee.
If you are interested in becoming a referee please register your interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, email address, contact number, and campus of study – please do this by Friday 17th October 12pm. In due course you will contacted with details of the Introductory Evening.
