Big Week ahead for Gaelic Games

This week Ulster University Gaelic Academy Clubs will compete in 4 All-Ireland Semi-Finals along with one All-Ireland Quarter Final across each of the codes.

First up will be the Men’s GFC Fresher A team who will take on DCU in the All-Ireland League Semi Final at home on the Jordanstown Campus at 3pm on Tuesday.  This will be followed up with the last group game for the Fresher C team who remain unbeaten this year and will be looking to progress to the league semi finals to emulate the achievements of the Fresher A and B squads to date this year. The Fresher squads have won the Ulster Fresher7’s Shield and Cup Competitions so far this year.

On Wednesday, the Ladies teams will take centre stage as the Camogie girls will take on Queens at 7pm in Jordanstown for a place in the All-Ireland League Final. The Ladies Gaelic team meanwhile will come up against the Garda College in their Semi Final which will be played in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon. They will be looking to add to their All-Ireland Freshers Sevens title that they have already won this year.

Lastly on Thursday, the Men’s Senior Gaelic team will be looking to go a step further than last year when they play last year’s Sigerson Cup Champions UCD in the All-Ireland League Semi Final.

Also, this week we would like to congratulate Ulster University Performance Sport Scholar Ryan McHugh who was named in the 2016 All Stars Team.
